Next Time

Well, last night I received a lovely e-mail from SEI - thanking me for applying and...encouraging me to apply again. - and I will. And so the adventure continues. Here's another I sent in. Favorite things include the punched picture borders and the banner surrounding my sleeping beauty.

SEI Design Team Application

So SEI was taking applications to join a design team, I thought I'd give it a go. Is a one year commitment, one project a month - I'm super excited. I sent in 5 pieces of my work - a couple that are here, hopefully that doesn't work against me. I find out Friday if I am in or not. It is a new world for me, so I'm a huge rookie in the pool, my hopes are not high.

Here I've attached one that I worked on forever, lets see - favorite features: the twin around the brads that led to my own embellishments, the ink died letters in the title, the embossing on the cool blue paper, the journalling spiral and a few of the photos I love - as if I have Darth Vader in a scrapbook :)

A New Page to Turn

Well - so here I am giving a blog on all my craft adventures a go. I have spent the last while really thinking about what I like to do with my time and when I boiled it all down - outside of my kids, regular job and friends and family - I love to stamp and scrapbook.

I decided I should embrace that, share it with others and see where it can take me. I have been investigating the joining of design teams - trying to get published in various forms, and what came up more than three times? What is your blog? So here goes nothing. I hope you enjoy it. Tammy

Sympathy Card in Purples

I started stamping greeting cards about 5 years ago, now I refuse to purchase one from Hallmark - although I still spend some time looking in there every once in a while - I love that I can personalize my cards, and make them what I would look for had I been buying it.

Here's one I made for a colleague of mine who lost her mother. I had to make a big card - this was the first time I did not make a 4.25 inch x 5.5 inch card. I even made the envelope. Overall I was impressed with myself. Combined sets from Stampin' Up and Close to My Heart.

Favorite features for me include: the sponge died organza ribbon that was white - and now brown - turned out amazing, and how great the envelope came out.

All Those Car Seat Photos

So how many times do you take pictures of your kids/pets/family/friends - when you are in the car driving somewhere (well hopefully you aren't driving and taking pictures - but you know what I mean)? I take a ton of those types of pictures.
Over the years of collecting the photos that I don't really know what to do with - these photos regularly started popping up. I pulled out all the ones of my son in his car seat - there were a ton - from really little until just recently when he's only in a booster seat.
I pulled them together to scrap book, and you know - it turned out well. Take a look. My journalling focuses on the time spent in those seats, how much he loved our golden retriever Earl, and the constants - bear and blankey. I think it turned out really well.

Features I love: distressed stars coupled with bakers twine, the buttons and the colour palette.
